I've got an A833 that's been sitting for a while and I can't rotate the input shaft more than a couple of degrees in each direction. It feels like a transmission that is in two gears at a time but it is in neutral and the output shaft turns freely. Any suggestions for the likely cause before I tear it down?

It's a POS. Send it to me. I'll take it.

I’ve pulled the side cover off, didn’t notice anything out of place although there is some surface corrosion from where moisture has got in. The countershaft rocks back and forth with the input shaft. I guess I just need to tear it down.

turn it on its side fill/soak it with kerosene or light oil...then put it in gear and stick a driveshaft on the tail shaft, and attempt to turn...more leverage...:)
