I really miss driving sometimes, but then I realize how much I enjoy being home. You be safe my friend

I'm trying to get off the road. After 29 years aND I don't need a computer to tell me when I'm tired

Looks like you've hauled tons of cool stuff. I've done very little road work. Always been lucky to land decent paying local gigs. Hauled this tank last week. 67' long 14'4" high.

I was contracted to haul furniture 98% of the time. My heavy load would be 14,000, occasionally I would have a back haul of salt or something that would put me to the max. Most of the time my back haul would be a 3,500 pound of foam. Just drop and hook. I do miss the scenery and the people I was involved with. And after retiring, the money.

It's not like it used to be. Trucks used to be cool. Real drivetrains, beautiful to look at, easy to wrench on now, they look like minivans. The new breed of drivers are many times worse than the 4 wheelers.

The last truck I had was a Volvo. That was like driving a car. So comfortable and easy to control. Not much like I started with a Ford that was a pain to drive. Fortunate to have driven some of the best including Peter built, international classic series and the last was the Volvo. I don't remember all of the junk I have driven.

You know the joke about Volvo drivers?

I'm listening. Today I would like to be on the road. My wife is our of work and is totally upset about everything. I have just finished paying the bills and she is upset that we only have 300 till the 3rd of march when I get paid for my part time job.
Praying she will get a job soon. She keeps asking if we have anything we can sell. Don't care to sell the welder, pressure washer or the barracuda.
She has already asked.
Ring phone, please!

hum... that's $42 a day - and the bills are ALL paid?? gonna be close but I bet you can swing it.. just no pizza or beer :(

Yep, meat in the freezer, we are okay
she hasn't been home when I paid the bills in quite a while. Today she wants to get involved in everything. Thank goodness I get to work tomorrow

Amarillo sounds nice. Not very many opportunities to order some brisket here in Carolina. I smoke my own occasionally, but the family would rather have pulled pork. Brisket is expensive at the meat market here. Pork shoulder sells for.99 a pound and brisket is 4.99 if you can find it on sale. Have a safe day.
