Stumped - need help!

Let me apologize for yet another suspension thread but, I was hoping to get some advice before I just start throwing money (which I don't have) at a problem.

I rebuilt my front suspension, all new parts (QA1 UCAs, re-bushed stock LCAs, all new ball joints and steering components). Everything went together great!
Also worth mentioning, I have ESPO +2" leafs in the back.

I took my car to the alignment shop after the rebuild and it seemed ok. The front seemed a little low for my taste and when I looked underneath - I'm almost riding on the bump stops.

I know I put the torsion bars in correctly (loose pivot, adjuster finger pushed all the way down when re-installing the T bars, etc) - but, I'm wondering if the torsion bars are just wore out? Is that possible?

Another weird thing is that when I went to adjust the ride height, I have almost NO threads left on the adjusters, meaning they're almost maxed out.

And finally, the passenger side sits a little lower than the driver. When I tried to raise it, both sides went up, instead of just the passenger.

What are your thoughts? Where should I start?

I was hoping for a stock - or a little higher than stock, ride height).

i have had 1 car with no threads left and still on the bump stops,71 demon and i tried to move it a flat and that put the 6 or 9 way down past the opening for the adjustment block
i even thought maybe someone heated them to drop the car.and it maybe that the only ones i've had were /6 bars.
 
you probably installed the lower control arms wrong.
Pull the T-Bars and reinstall one notch lower.....if that makes sense..
you may need to disconnect the lower ball joint.

in other words you didnt put any preload on the bars...
 
Probably one flat off on the hex. Make sure your right and left bars (they are marked) are on the correct sides and facing the correct way.
 
Are the numbers on the bars toward the back? Left and right sides mixed up? Sockets in the cross member rotating due to corrosion? Bars installed with the LCA all the way down? The same bars showed normal ride height before the rebuild?

...I don't recall if the LCAs were *completely* vertical when I re-installed them.
I was hoping to get away from removing the lower ball joint but, sounds like it may be inevitable. Oh well, chalk it up as a learning experience!

thats ok,no biggie.ill bet it will solve the problem,just make sure the arms are all the way down when you put the bars in.
 
To get full drop on the control arm, you need to remove the upper control arm bumpers. They will keep the lower control arm from dropping all the way.

I put the lower control arm and torsion bar together first, then put a floor jack under it to lift it and connect it to the upper...

General consensus is that the hex is off by one notch.... please show pic of how you installed them.
