Got to get it smoged NA first....

hey wicked. what head gasket are you running? i still need to get one. oh and where did you get the pistons? direct?

Im just using the felpro thats comes with the gasket kit.
The pistons I bought off a fellow slantsix racer who found them when he bought a bunch of stuff off an old racer, they were made in the late sixtys or early seventys. They brought my pistons hieght from .186 down to .056 down so changed comp from 8-1 to 9.25-1. Not sure if they make them anymore.

Here is a pic of them before i pluged them into the block.

And more progress but still no timing cover, need to just bring it to the exaust shop and get it welded. Fuel line ran, power cable routed to the trunk, mini starter installed and wired, tranny snugged up, throttle cable and kickdown cable ran and adjusted! More tomorrow!

You're gonna have more fun than the law allows... :)

This is a GREAT project!!!!

What kind of a supercharger is that???

Keep us posted!!!

Bill

Bill, It is a coolcharger unit off a GMC Yucon. They have gone out of buisness but it will be fun to learn on and maby upgrade to bigger procharger later.

Okay, thanks!

Don't forget the Vortech V-1 S trim (may be obsolete, too; I dunno) which can be found on ebay very reasonable and is perfectly sized for a slant 6.

Here is one I am using on my 360 Magnum that I got brand new for $1,000.00, still in the box, a couple of years ago (ebay.) It makes 10 pounds of boost at 5500 rpm with a 750 Holley, on a stock 360 Magnum with a little more aggressive cam and no other changes but headers. Would probably make 15+ pounds on a /6.

Not to downgrade Prochargers, they're great,.. just an alternative/slight upgrade, that might be a little cheaper, maybe.

This blower took my car from (unblown) 13.30s at 102 mph to mid 11's at about 116, with no other changes but a slightly better intake manifold and TTI headers instead of 340 manifolds.... that's it.

Made a different car out of it....

Good luck!!!

Well I have it running N/A right now, Off vacation so not much time for the car unfortunatly. It runs extreamly well with the cam and compression. With the boost it's going to be a hand full...
Hey Slantscamp what was the name of the company you got to make the pully for the crank and did they keep the skematics to remake it?

TF

i used a company called performance machine works out of conroe texas. the guy there was really good to work with. i sent him my new balancer and he made a pulley that bolts to the three holes on the front. he made it as small as he could in order to keep the top pulley smaller. right now i have it set up with the blower 10% underdriven, but eventually that will change. i have the number around here somewhere if you need it.
