When you use a Hotwire or other type harness, does the computer show a vss speed? If so, what does it use to read? I used a 04 ram 5.7 and a 545rfe trans from a donor. The harness is a stock one trimmed down. I do not have a vss sensor hooked up on the rearend. But when I look into hooking one up, it looks like it goes to the abs module then a bus signal to the ecm? I’m using the output shaft speed signal to an auto meter speedo. But I put a decent size cam in the motor and it doesn’t transition from driving to idle well. And it shows 0mph all the time.

I believe the 545 uses an input and an output sensor for vehicle speed.

Maybe reach out to Hotwire Auto?

They have a tech article on the NAG-1 swap. I know it isn't the same, but in order to make that one work they add an ABS sensor, ABS module and the Front Control Module in order (I believe) to give the trans controller a speed signal. I wonder if you setup wouldn't require something similar.
