Before starting the painting i had to test how this 1978 440cid (stroked to 500) fits in the engine room with TTI 2" headers.
This has been done in the earlier days: Swinger 1969
The engine itself fits quite well, but after adding headers there is not much room left. Luckily inner fenders are not anymore in the engine room. And no more power brakes!

Car looks great. Why water soluable paint? Does it lay out the metallic paint better? Is a different.paint gun needed? Was the clear solvent based?

Here is in Finland it is hard to find any other kind paint than water soluable paint. It has something to do with environment laws. Anyway, it no harder to paint. I use High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) paint gun. And yes, the clear coat was solvent based.

Nice lifter valley pan, just messing with ya

You mean that that glassfiber flip front;-} It has done a very good service since 1984 when we made it. My Swinger 1969 lose about 150 lbs front weight because of that. It was necessary because I changed 225cid slant six to 440cid iron already at 1985;-}

Nice! is that a paint booth? or a home garage setup. If it is a garage, how are you controlling the dut etc. from contaminating your paint operation?

In this same area in my carroom i do all the small parts of doing. That is why there is some visible markings all over. That is no problem! It means that i have to use some cleaning material here.

Thank you all! Originally when I bought that car 1983 it had B5 Blue, then matt black. Next Yellow and then orange!-) Car was in "sleep" from 1991 to 2008. Now at 2023 back B5 Blue!
