How do I get the vinyl top and front and rear windsheild trim off without bending it? Is there a special tool?
I am pretty sure there is a tool. I am curious also for the drip rail trim. Don't want to mess it up.
Yeah mine is already bent a little and I tried to get it off yesterday and bent it more. F@*k.
You can use a can opener to remove the driprail molding (just put tape around it so you dont scratch it), and the windshield trim is removedwith a tool that looks like a hook.
I guess everyone has their own secrets and ways to do things. I do agree with you that a gentle touch is a must....most of the time. We just finished a 70 Hemicuda at the shop and I had to use a pair of pliers and a screwdriver to get them off because someone glued them on in the past.
Thanks wagg's for the offer. If I ever get some time I will give you a call. Working two jobs right now.
Harbor Freight is offering their windshield trim kit for only $9.99 right now. I was dreading purchasing ANOTHER set of tools to do another job until I found that out!
