Tanks inc universal pump

so I ordered a tanks inc universal in tank pump for my duster now I realize how it sits up and will hit the trunk floor has anyone installed one of these without cutting the trunk floor? I'm thinking I'm going to have to make a drop down in the tank. I watched a video of the aero motive one installed in a swinger and they don't mention haveing to cut the floor but I don't see anyway over coming it sticking up, any help would Be great thanks. Also I am aware they make a tank for the car with a in tank pump but I already had a new tank and trying to save money

Someone ran into something similar but I can't find the post.

They affixed two hardened rubber pads about 18" long (1 inch tall) to the top of the tank too space it down and had just enough length on the tank straps to tighten it down. Said it also helped insulate the pump noise.

Any idea of what kind of rubber they used?

They did not say but it looked like a hard neoprene

I just installed an Aeromotive Stealth in a tank tonight. Aeromotive Phantom 340 Stealth Fuel Systems 18688 You dont need to cut the trunk floor. Just space the tank down. I plan on adding length to my tank straps if they are a tight fit.
You can get those big rubber mats from tractor supply. Use what you need and the rest can be used as cushion in front of your workbench. The mats are used in horse stalls, I believe.
