Taurus fan on Champion radiator

Good stuff guys . I have installed a griffin rad with a 1993 Lincoln 2 speed , as well as the Volvo relays, looking for a 2 temp thermostat with a 3/8 pipe thread for the block so everything with work . anyone using these with success ?
ive tried using the ford sensor with NO success.(seems it needs the factory ecm to work the sensors]
 
Looks like the Taurus shroud is a nice fit but one you cut off the tabs how is it retained to the radiator? I'm guessing just drill some holes in plastic shroud but would love confirmation or a picture of what you guys did.
