I will be installing a Transgo TF-2 in my 73 904 tonight. I want to be able to shift manually (because it's cool). My question is, what do I do with the throttle kick down? Do I just remove it? Should there be some accumulator pressure when shifting? How does this work?
I would like to just remove it and shift it manually full time (keep my wife from driving it He, He).

You have to retain the factory throttle pressure (kickdown) linkage unless you put in a trans-go TF-3 kit or other manual valve body. If you install a TF-2 kit and take the linkage off you'll burn up the transmission. You can still manual shift it even with the TF-2 kit and linkage attached.

Wow that was easy. Transgo has great instructions and pictures to show you what to drill, what springs go where, where all of the balls go and even shows you how to adjust the bands when your done. It only took me about 3 hours, because I was careful. I can't wait to get the dart on the road. Thanks FABO.
