I picked up a pickup finally. I have a lot of projects and needed a rig to tow and haul. This truck fell into my lap for a easy $600 bucks.

1972 Dodge D200 Adventurer SE, 400BB / 727 / Dana70
122,K miles and other than bottom of cab in one corner and bed side, truck is straight and rust free.

Plans are get it running and stopping then decide to fix the bed or do a flatbed. Then I've got flowmasters to put on it. Been looking for some 16" wheels and tires as it has 16.5s on it now

Truck already has a dual plane Weiand intake, rusty edelbrock carb, headers and electronic ignition.

Though I have never seen one with an automatic, I have seen more than one factory 400 truck engine with a steel crank in front of a manual transmission. I'd say it's a possibility.

Nice score though!

with factory tool box...and big block.

Sweet.

A few more pics..

Thanks, motor looks to be in great shape. Rear end has steep gears. My buddy said on freeway was at 3800rpm. Curious to see what ratio is.

It also has dual gas tanks!

That's a 4.10 gear I am sure. I would love to have seen that thing when it was new.

Hahaa! Yeah ScampMike it is a project, but don't tell my better half !
Any more cars and I'll have to say they are her's or she may put a stop to my "collecting" haha
I've got a couple few

1969 Coronet 9. Passenger wagon
1965 Barracuda
1999 Cherokee
1997 Cherokee (just a flip)
2008 Cooper S (for the women)
2004 Harley Custom 1200

Will be getting a 1967 Dart this Sunday (project for the women)

You did well! C/B and PA? :)

Yeah it does. With the original manual for the cb from 1976.looks mint. Has a dash mounted mileage gauge (vacuum gauge) and a factory in dash tachometer too. Love the old man bug guard upfront haha

I figured as much but sometimes automatic equipped rigs got a little steeper gearset. I'll have to take a look this week and find out. Most of the trucks I've found were manual trans 3:54 gears or 4:10s

Also has a roll top on it. Still can't believe, inside of the bed looks like it was never used

I have an Adventurer SE D300 similar to yours. It's a 1978 model, and from your pictures they don't seem to have changed very much. Mine is a 1-ton dually with a 440 and a Dana 70 4.10 differential.

Very nice truck, Bill.

I just looked at a pic of under mine and it has a Dana 70. I just assumed it was a Dana 60. I would have thought that was D300 only.

Very nice! I see that you're from Auburn. If that's a local truck, it was probably purchased from Tom Matson's Valley Motors, as it was known at that time. I bought my '73 D100 Adventurer Sport from there in May '73. It was originally a yellow and white long bed with the tool box just like yours. I actually wanted one that color, but they didn't have one in stock with the equipment I wanted.

I still have it, but have made a lot of modifications

Man that's a super clean truck. What engine does yours have?

It's a 318, TorqueFlite, power steering, trailer towing package, disc brakes, and came with dual tanks and a tool box that I removed.

I've installed a 4bbl Performer package with a 360 exhaust. It also has aftermarket air, later model Mopar sound system and the interior is completely redone with sound proofing, bucket seats console, floor shift, trim and sliding window from a '91 SE, plus several other custom mods.

FWIW, when I bought it, mileage was around 8 mpg. With all the mods, I've got it up to 16.

The bath makes your truck look really nice! I see it has the same factory option West Coast Mirrors and step bumper that I had them put on mine.

Gosh, the interior will probably clean up as nice, you can take it to a car show.
