My understanding is the 60-62 cars are even lighter then the 63-66 cars. Although looking at them you'd never know it.
 
Anyone know if you can swap a 318 into a 62, and use the existing pushbutton auto?

No. Simply because the original transmission is from a slant 6 and it won't bolt to a V8.
 
Good to know.
I would have guessed the /6 and small block would have the same bolt pattern.

I would consider a V8 swap, but not if I have to give up the pushbutton.
