I was just trying to get an idea of the scale of the chop. It looks great so far.
i see basically i took 18 inches out of the length of the body. i didn't disturb any of the unibody structuture under neath all the rails are still intact. i put a sleeve in each of the rockers where they wre sliced and then brought back together. look at the picture of the red car at the quarter panel from in front of the wheel to the door latch you'll see the amount of metal removed. if i do a roof chop i will have to lean the rear glass forward which will give it a fastback appearance. the other option i have thought of would be to transplant the 64-66 barracuda roof and rear glass section to to the lancer

GREAT WORK SO FAR, don't lose focus, 2 many projects get sold b4 completion.
BTW, it's a 2 door 5 passenger >> to a 2 door 2 passenger, unless you decide to make it a roadster like Murray Pfaff's Imperial roadster.

12 years ago right after i bought the car i started on this pursuit to find all of this. i found a company out west just then making a prototype windshield gasket and they sent me everything else as well. if i remember though all the door seals and weather strips were basically universal (cut/trim to fit) its all been in storage for a while the names that come to me are either "pat's or "roberts". sometime soon i will try and dig this stuff out, and then i will be able to better let you know

Gotta agree, your doing some magical metalworking. I'm gonna love seeing the finished product no matter whether it ends up as a roadster, fastback, or as it currently is.
