I got a thermoquad carb, would like to use it if it's a 340 carb.
6319 - top
176 3 bottom.

How do you know it an automatic carb? It does have S behind the 6319 I forgot to post that.

No, that is incorrect. The manual trans carb has a different number.

According to my sheet you were correct if you are talking about a 73 340 MT

TQ6138S - standard trans carb, TQ6139S - automatic trans carb

My sheet says the 6138S is correct for a 72 340 MT and the 6139 for a 72 340 auto. I think he was referring to a 73 model year.

Possibly the confusion came in from the 2 middle numbers being transposed from 1 year to the next?
