I swapped some Magnum R/T heads (the real MP ones) onto my Duster motor with an M1 dual plane and a Thermoquad that matches the car ('74 Duster 360 4 speed). The M1 doesn't have a choke well and so the car has been a bear to start each time I've done so (hasn't been on the road long). Usually, it involves lots of manually closing the choke and cranking, getting tired of it.

So, this last Friday I picked up a 9811 Thermoquad because of the integal choke so I could retrofit it onto the carb on my car. On a side note, it turns out that this is an aftermarket Thermoquad, not a stock one, for use with EGR.

I'm working on building a mount, but while I do so, just wondering if there are any instructions on how to set up the choke, like how many turns to give the housing and such. Any where to by extra parts? This one looks like it might have been tweaked some.

I've tried Demonsizzler and the thermoquads.com website repeatedly and can't get him to repond to my emails, so don't point me there. No hard feeling, I know he kind of closed down his business, just saying that I've tried that avenue for a couple of months and it seems like a dead end.

Thanks.

David,

I apologize, I wasn't trying to call you out or anything. I was just trying to anticipate the responses I would get and figured I would say up front that I had tried to get a hold of you. We probably just didn't connect.

I had no hard feelings and wasn't trying to poke at you.

Sent you an email.

It's been working good. I wish it was a little stiffer, but it seems to work fine. Had some problems with the lever on the carb sticking, but since I got that fixed it's been great. Put about 3000 miles or more on the car this summer and never even thought about it once I worked a couple of bugs out.

Oh, and I had to bend a new fuel line, too.

I do wish I had I could find a new choke cover, though.
