Thin head gaskets for stock 318 anyone?

-
Not any more, even the 318 gaskets are 4.180 or bigger to cover the 340-360 bore. You may find an old NOS set somewhere.
Cylinder Bore Diameter (IN) 4.180...this Victor REinz is even listed as a 273 compatible!

Just bore it to 4.00 and use a 360 gasket; oh-yeah

At .028 thickness, the difference between 4.180 bore and 3.930 bore is 1.327cc. But it leaves you with a huge 12.35 lineal inches of very sharp cast iron edge to deal with, and not to forget what you set on top of that.

“IF” you trust your machinist and they need to be a perfectionist- No gasket or metal shim. Spray tack and torque like some did back in the day. Metal to metal baby. ARP head studs a must.
