A driver's license or credit card edge can be used to set breaker point gap when a feeler gauge isn't available.

If you can't hold a hot radiator cap long enough to open it with your bare hand, it's too hot to open. Steam may be wet, but it still burns.

On '72 and older Mopars look for an L in the center of the lug stud or the driver's side before trying to remove a wheel. If you see it, the righty-tighty, lefty-loosey rule does not apply to the lug nuts. Clockwise to loosen a lug, counter-clockwise to tighten.
 
The volume of a Holley float bowl is about the same as 1/2 a soda can... So you can cut the top off one with a pocket knife and by removing the lower bowl screw from whichever side is easier and use the can to catch all the fuel before you pull the bowl off.

So can a dollar bill folded in half lengthwise, then folded in half again. This sets the gap and cleans 'em at the same time.

I also use the chopped olive or diced chile cans. they are about the same size.

?? Never heard this. We do this alot on suspension work. Same with peening the holes on oil/trans pans.

Didn't they disprove that on Mythbusters?
 
When shopping for old sb iron heads know this...

Xheads curve inward [exh side] around the outer head bolts..
while all j heads/71&up etc have ledges that stick outward [exh side] on each end and under the center lower head bolts.
