Thinking About Changing Trannies

Since I decided to stick an 8 3/4 rear under my 1966 Barracuda, I'm thinking about changing the trannie from a 904 to a 727. The question I have is will a 727 fit under the hump without modifying the hump?

from what ive read, you need to flatten/cut off the flange/standing seam where the firewall meets the floorboard. i welded mine on the inside and cut it off

It is a mixed bag of modifiing the tunnel. I have heard people say it went right in, I have heard people say they had to flatten the seem and in my case I had to remove the most of the tunnel and replace it with a new one.
