Do I need to lube the throttle shafts on my new Holley carbs? I've had issues in the past with OEM carbs (not Mopar) that have worn in this area & caused vacuum leaks. If I need to lube them, what do I use? 3 in 1 oil? Silicone spray? Graphite? How often? I just don't want them to wear prematurely, they cost a bunch!

One thing to remember is too much spring tension will help wear the shaft/base plate. OF course you want to have enough tension to be safe.

Holley carbs have a nylon type sleeve on the throttle shafts so they are not metal to metal. I would not lube them at all, lube can have tendency to attract dust and dirt that will be abrasive against the metal. The best thing is to keep them clean.
