I use a fine wire to close the gap in the gear and then JB Weld to keep it all together.Hopefully you can find an old radio repairman. Modern repairmen just want to gut the insides and replace. One common problem with these is a small gear inside that breaks and stops the needle from moving. These are no longer available but I have been successful in repairing with superglue. To keep it original you may have to collect other radios for parts. Good luck.
