The stock cam retainer plate has a relief on the back, aligns with the right bank galley, and the galley plug had a hole for lubing the chain. Replaced that with a tensioner, which has no relief on the back, and the plug the machine shop installed has no oil hole.

Chain/top gear gonna run too dry? Anything here that needs to be addressed or modified?

If your worried about it you can just drill a small hole through the tensioner plate & the plug so oil squirts on the chain. 1/16" is plenty

I always drill a hole through the bolt on the passenger's side of the block that runs into the bottom of the lifter valley. It will drip right onto the chain.

How crucial is the hole in the bolt? None of the four bolts I pulled off the cam plate had a hole.
