Hello everyone.

Replaced my cam thrust plate with a new chain tensioner plate P5007709. Is there anything I should have done different before I put the cover back on? Read somewhere that it is a good idea to drill a 1/64 hole in plug for lifter lubrication located behind plate and drill hole in plate to match. Also read to leave bolt with hole completely out.

Looks to me like the tensioner is machined a little different on backside as compared to original thrust plate. Original had indentions and grooves machined in it at the cam hole. New tensioner is machined perfectly smooth and flat.

Will the chain get enough lubrication by just bolting it on without any modifications with the 3 bolts, one being the hollow bolt in the upper passenger hole?

Thanks guys,
BarryC.

It will get plenty. You did pull the pin, right? I like to dribble a little oil over the chain before the cover goes on, because it is just splash fed from the valley and that bolt. that's it.
