Timing for recurved distributor?

Just installed the HEI conversion kit by Trailbeast in Aaron's Dart Sport we swapped a 360 into. Went ahead and got the recurved distributor with it. It fired right up with the new distributor set roughly like the original, although it was idling a little ragged. Tomorrow we are changing out spark plugs to NGK 6130 with 0.045 gap and need to reset timing with all these changes.

Can some of you walk me through the routine you use, step by step? I know there is initial advance with vacuum capped off, mechanical advance, vacuum advance, and total advance. However, I'm not sure how all these pieces of the puzzle go together, like what degree advance at what rpm, etc.
