I'm in the process of putting on my timing cover and wanted to know what a few gaskets are for. 1 is a felt like a circle gasket, the other is a flat rubber gasket about a half inch wide with five or six fingers coming off of it on one side. Where do these go?

Depending on the year the felt goes on the crank and the rubber is for the oil pan.
What engine?

Yup, the felt goes behind the balancer to help keep dirt out of the front seal. The rubber piece you describe sounds like the piece that goes on the bottom of the cover. If you look at the oil pan you will see holes to pull those rubber fingers through to keep it in place while installing the cover.
