I have a 360 and imgetting ready to put it back to gether and can't find any thing in my book about where the distributor and oilpump drive gear lines up or wich durectoin the slot goes
 
aline the slot so when you set the distributor in the roter is pointing towads the front of the moter aimed at #1 spark plug wire and the moter crank at tdc on the compreshion stroke. If you are off its no big deal to move it later you can easily jump the pump gear any way you need to with the moter in the car and the intake on.
 
Thanks That Is What I Was Thinking But Wasnt To Sure Of It Its Been 20 Years Since The Last Time I Did This

:-D I need to make a thread that I can just unload my whole "Tech" folder into. Its got Ford stuff, chevy stuff, mopar stuff, hot rod stuff, a crapload of pics, all sorts of neato stuff that I find on the interweb.
