Tire question

What is the trap rpm? A 750DP is a lot to swallow below 2K. Perhaps change the launch technique so you dont go way into the secondaries until the tach climbs to 3500. If the trap rpm is below 5800 I'd look at trying a 650DP with the choke removed. It will be snappier even later with a real convertor. You may also try going up as high as 38° total.
 
You can change tires,timing and carbs all day long your not going faster until you change that stock convertor,i'd go with a better v.b. too....

see what pump shooters are in it.

increase them 4 sizes or so and see what happens

so if they are 31's, throw some 35's on it . if you have all that timing now, the bigger pump shot " should" cure a stumble when you mash it.
