I need to replace the tires on my just acquired 273/4bbl/4-sp 65 Dart Gt. The current tires look in good shape but are 15 years old. It currently has 205/70 R14s all around on rallyes. I am planning to stick with that size.

I was going to just go BFG but I'm betting there are way better tires for this car and the conditions it will be driven in. It won't get a lot of miles on it per year.

It won't be raced or driven very aggressively and will be cruised. It has manual steering so I'd like a tire that isn't difficult to turn. I had manual steering on my 67 Dart and had to go through several sets of tires before I found a set that cruised nice and steered decent on that car but that was decades ago.

tires are a tough thing ~ what's your budget? what look are you after ~ low and mean street carver; "bigs and littles" 1/4 mile race car; grandma's grocery getter... ??? Don't forget to take your potential driving weather conditions into account too. Everybody has an opinion on what tire manufacturer is best, and 14's are getting a little harder to find. I'm going to say Cooper, BFG or General. Do some research and know what you want before you go to the local tire store! They WILL try to talk you into something else. Good luck.

Yes, with 14's you might have to buy what you can get. Expensive tires are kind of a waste id they die of old age before you wear them out. I have 15's on mine now. Originally 14's and then 15's on the rear and 14's on the front.

I'm curious, how easy do the 15's on the front turn with manual steering? Do they hit the fender on hard turns (I've heard from some this happens)?..

Pretty easy. I don't have many issues with manual steering except when maneuvering into a parking spot and the like. The top photo is all 14", the middle photo is 14's on the front and 15's on the rear and the bottom is 15's on all 4 corners. Front tires are 165 80 15 and the rears are 235 70 15. The width of the tread has more to do with turning issues than the actual size.

Looks and sounds great. Thanks so much!

Hankook kinergy 205/70/14 highly rated and reasonably priced , probably the best tire available in the limited 14¨ class

I have Toyo Extensa A/S on my car (P195/75R14 front & P215/75R14 rear)

The rears will be replaced with P245/60R15s on my "new to me" 15 X 7 WheelVintiques Rallye wheels in a few weeks.
