I wanted a small "drum" sander, and found out that HF showed some small ones you can put in a chuck/ drill/ drill press. Went over and looked--------they have a smaller set, and a larger set, BUT DO NOT STOCK REPLACEMENT DRUMS FOR EITHER SET!!!!

I have had a HF belt/ disk sander I got somewhere, "needs work." 4x36 belts. Recently I picked up a used Sears same size, 4x36

There on the wall is the sanding "stuff" no 4x36. WTF? Wandered over to the power tools, sure nuff, there's a 4x36 belt sander. Went BACK and the belts I needed WERE ON THE VERY BOTTOM SHELF a few inches below the second shelf so you REALLY had to get down and look At least I got them, we'll see if they hold up

Used to work for an "abrasive " company. Industrial Abrasives out of Reading Pennsylvania. They sell all that stuff. Good luck!

I know guys don’t like to do it but most of their employees are very knowledgeable and could have told you right where the belts were. Give them a holler next time.

I must have gotten a special one them
I was on there once, buying a pneumatic 3 inch muffler cutter for a whopping 7.99

When I went to check out the girl asked me if I wanted to buy the extended warranty for "only" 8.99

She just didnt see why that wasn't a great deal

Man I must be lucky. I have a choice of two stores but I have to travel about 15-18 miles to get there. Having a choice I go to the newer store (3-4 years old) and there are usually 2-3 people on the floor stocking shelves. I always have a list of needed items and my coupons cut out and ready to use. Every-time I've asked for assistance they have told me exactly where to find my items, usually even walking me over to them. My Sister moved from PA to Florida 7 years ago and can't believe the difference between the two areas as far as service received in stores. They always look forward to the time spent back in PA each summer. Luckily when I do make a trip tp Harbor Freight I usually stop at the only Rural King in my area. Man I love that store.

Just like the grocery store where they put the slow sellers at eye level HF puts their best sellers on the bottom shelf kinda like the cans of chicken soup.

When I went to HF for the first time I purchased a 2 ton engine hoist for $169. When I got it home and took it apart I found some of the bolt holes didn't line up. No big deal I thought, I'll just do some re-drilling. Then digging a little farther there was no ram either. I thought WTF, so I headed back to the store really pist off. Talked to a nice guy there and explained to him the ram was missing and that's all I wanted. He said they would have to order one. Then I told him about the holes being off a little bit. He gave me a look like hmm..... I guess they had two different models and some of the parts got mixed. So he said our other store has the right hoist in stock and that I should go there and pick it up. Again, I told him I really just needed a ram and he said just go to that store and they'll get the right hoist with all the right parts. I said the other hoist is all apart and don't want to have to make another trip to bring it back, all I want is the ram that was missing. He said oh, you don't have to bring the hoist back, just keep it and do whatever you want with it. I couldn't believe it. I went to the other store, told them who I was and in few minutes they loaded a brand new hoist into the back of my van. The hole time I thought somebody was going to grab me and say "What are you doing?" Lol
The new hoist works great. Now I have two of them, well minus one ram.
Bottom line is I'm very satisfied with their customer service. Steve

There always has to be a bottom shelf. Lol.

LOL seems like what I want is always there. Some gal caught me moaning and groaning trying to get up off the floor at the local supermarket, trying to read the labels "down there" I don't remember what I was looking at. I was comparing price per each and discovered that the SMALLER boxes were cheaper "per" than the larger ones

The Chinese stuff is so cheap they can afford to do that.

My wife ordered a pair of $80.00 slip on canvas shoes... She didn't like the fit. She contacted Amazon....they shipped a different pair and told her to keep the other pair.

I know a guy whose brother is in the wholesale tool bidness. He got a 46" tool chest and cabinet from his bro for Christmas... the set retails for $900.00 .... He almost fell over at his brothers generosity until he found out those two boxes cost his brother $56.00 including freight!

Did you guys ever watch Shark Tank and hear what product cost to produce and what they sell it for. If not watch a few shows.

Most items pass thru several hands before we buy them... add shipping, import fees, taxes, freight forwarding $$$ and other costs the old retailers creed of doubling your cost to find your retail selling price (called "keystoning") has been out the window for decades.

When I sold racing tires trackside my $28.00/cost retraeds had to be sold for $44.00 for me to break even. I made my profit from having a tire machine in my van.

all hand tools have a lifetime warranty. I brought a broken tubing bender and they just said 'throw it in that bin and grab another'.

some stores don't really have help!

Our Rural King has free popcorn, and Rallys is across the parking lot. That used to be our "family night out" when our 3 boys were young, and we were broke.
