Torque Value

O.k., what should I torque my 7/16-20 torque converter to flex plate bolts to? I already loctited and torqued to 22 ft.lbs, however I later found this may be too much. Anybody?

The torque chart I looked at says 60 ft.lbs. for 7/16" bolts and 270 in.lbs. for 5/16" bolts. see below.

270 in lbs = 22.5 ft lbs so if your bolts are 5/16" you are OK.

No, I have the 7/16-20. So I guess now I have to go back and clean out the threads and retorque to 65 ft. lbs. Damn!

torqued mine to 65 ft lbs. with out any lock tite, they are still tight after a season of drag racing (107 runs down the quarter mile)!
