Trailer towing hookup questions

-
I had a 81 D150 with the slant and od833, I got passed flat towing a jeep cj one time up a mountain 2 lane by a semi pulling a trailer.
The slant will not have any power, when that truck passed me, I told my wife, I should un-hook the jeep, and tow the truck up the hill.
well im not trying to climb mountains..not even much of hill!

I highly suggest a sway control setup with weight spread hitch. It is amazing how quickly a tailwhip can send you out of control
For sure. Absolutely. I towed similar with a Raptor. I thought it was fine until installed that set up. Nightmare and day.

Make sure you crisscross your safety chains to forma sling under the tongue in case something happens to the hitch!

I always crisscross my front straps and use an axle strap around the LCA! My back straps go around the axle!

I leave about 2-3 feet in front of the car to the front of the trailer, which centers the car on the trailer pert near perfect! It's also enough room to strap my mini bike up there!

I will always drive about 5 miles to let the car settle in, then stop to check my straps!

I've been pulling cars on trailers for years with my 2wd Dodge Ram 1500 with zero problems with power, pulling or overloading! I will even pull my 30' camper without problems!

Safety first at all times!!!

Agree!

Lite aluminum 30' camper? I pulled a 28' older travel trailer with load distributing hitch and anti-sway in the W100 and was always white knuckle. I learned pretty quick I needed to save some cash for the right truck. Short 30 mile runs are not bad but eventually you go longer as we always do and then you know the 1/2 ton is not going to cut it!
