Trans Crossmember Question

I'm converting my 75 Scamp slant 6 automatic to a 318 v-8 with 4 speed OD trans. Will I need to change the trans crossmember too?

What trans do you plan on using? If you go the magnum injected route, the 44/46 RE trans does require the removal of the cross member center section. If you look at our 4 speed auto into a 64 thread, you can see what removing the x member looks like. its pretty simple and even easier in the later chassis as no floor cutting is required.

I put a LA360-A833 into a 68 Barracuda that was factory equipped with a slanty/904. I used a 73 Dart 318/904 spool-mount crossmember. So if that means anything, Ima thinking they are all interchangeable.......probably from 67 to 76ish.

But if you are referring to an O/D automatic, like an A500/518, well, surprise!! Um no. Lotsa cutting, welding and fabricating.

Yes Its a manual trans that I'm using an A-833 OD

4 speed manual should use same one.
