I am aware that for the 727 there need to be line pressure for the kick down linkage. I have a question and it may be a dumb one. I had a trans shop intall a Lokar kickdown cable in place of the actual linkage. It seems to work properly, but I questioned about "what about the spring tension" and such.
they said it held enough pressure. Can someone confirm this? I know alot of cars use the Lokar kick cables. Are they o.k. to use or and I sending my trans. to a quick grave?

next...if I want to adjust the kick down a bit on the cable do I just loosen the stop screw on the cable itself and make a slight adjjustment?

thanks all!

I use a Lokar kickdown and throttle cable, I just ordered the e-brake cables; I think Lokar makes the best stuff. To adjust the cable you turn the hex nut that connects the cable to the bracket. I don't know all the technical words, I'm a bit of a novice. The throttle itself will keep the proper pressure on the kickdown cable once you get it dialed in. Peace
