In my Cuda I have 727 reverse manual turbo action valve body and a 4000 stall hughes converter. It normally stalls around 3600. Anyways Earlier last race season I ran two 1/4 mile races. Running the car the shift light would come on as I crossed the finish line. Then I added a 100 shot of spay and the shift light would come on a little sooner. The rest of the season I ran 1/8th mile drags. at the end of the season the shift light was coming on when I crossed the finish line in 3rd gear. The stall seemed to stay close to the same maybe a 100-200 higher with the spray. Any ideas on what is going on? I havent pulled the pan yet. But I drained the fluid and it was clean with out any debris. was gonna check the band adjustment. I was leaning towards the converter because it isnt a nitrous rated converter but with the stall staying the same I am questioning that as well.. sorry for the rambling.. lol

Doesn't seem like a problem to me... adding HP will cause the rpm to climb faster, meaning the shift light comes on sooner.

Max is right. It can make a big difference. Have you tried running it without any juice to see if it runs like it used to? Also has the car slowed down? If it hasn't slowed down it doesn't sound like anythings slipping. Any slippage will slow a car fast. Especially if you have allot of horsepower.

I havent ran it without the juice. I did notice the light was coming on earlier and earlier in consecutive runs. So something is slipping I would say. It would run the 1/8th about half way through 3rd gear, now its on the limiter..

Well, the best way to check the trans is to look in the pan for debris. Also, take a wiff of the fluid, that will tell you in a hurry if you are burning clutches. Last but not least, pull the trans and do a "biopsy" on it: take it apart and look at the clutches.

What about your times. Have they changed? As I said earlier if it's slipping it'll show it on the time slips real fast. Does your tach coincide with the shift light? If your e.t.'s haven't changed it possible you just have a defective shift light. If the times have slowed down it's slipping.
