I have a 1967 Barracuda Fastback that I have a 340 TA motor that I am putting in. I have not settled on a transmission yet, looking at either an automatic 46RH 518 or a manual A833 4 speed. Car came as a column shift automatic. I sort of like the idea of the manual, but the auto would be easier for my wife to drive. Anyone done these conversions, and how hard would it be to cram a 46RH 518 in there? vs all the clutch/pedal work? maybe go with hydraulic clutch? Interested in hearing some experience, good or bad. I am probably going to upgrade the rear end from the stock to an 8 3/4 posi if that makes a difference. The 340 dyno'd at 355hp so I don't think the original transmission or rear end would last long.

I crammed a 42RH with tunnel mods in my 65 Dart, which has a much smaller tunnel than your 67. FWIW a 42RH will handle a well built 340 with some suitable mods
