Hi..I'm putting a 2006 5.7 hemi out of a charger, into the old car. Donor car has a nag1 trans, which apparently is almost impossible to make work without spending less than a million dollars. Can I put a 45rfe or 545rfe behind it and change the ecm with my hp tuners to mske it work?

You have many options regarding which transmission to run. Here are a few among the many you could pursue once you decide how much floor/ chassis modifications you plan on making.

The most recent overdrive transmission swap i've done was to remove the Extreme Automatic's Stage 2 - 2004R and put a re-geared, Stage 2 - 4L60E from Performabuilt Transmissions. These transmissions are rated at 700hp & 900hp respectively they are compact and durable when fitted with aftermarket parts.

The 4L60E fit in the same tunnel space at the 2004R, but I did have to modify my rear motor/trans mount. No cutting on the floor pan itself was required for either.
