Will an 833 or similar 4 speed fit in the same tunnel that a manual 3 speed once resided in?

If it was a floor shift 3 speed, then yes. If it was a column shift, then you will have to cut the driver's side of the tunnel and add the floor shift hump in order to fit an 833. Other 4/5 speeds will require additional mods to fit.
