What are you guys using to put new trim studs on our beloved A-Bodies?

In the process of yanking the windshield on my '71, I noticed about a quarter of the studs were broken off at one point (guessing a previous owner wasn't gentle removing/installing the trim)

And I'd also like to install a 3/4 Vinyl Top on the car (no-top car originally) to go with the rest of my envisioned modifications. So, i don't have any studs on the roof to do this. Also my '72 Demon was a factory 3/4 Vinyl Top car, but the previous owner ground all the studs off the roof.

My stud gun that welds the nails on to pull dents has an adapter for this and at one time I had some of the studs. I never used them as you have to grind a large enough area for the gun to ground and also the heat could warp a roof panel.
I always used small screws to fasten the moulding clips on.

We use a stud gun all the time to replace window trim and quarter trim studs. No problems with warping.
