maybe sort of... but a traction bar used as a traction bar will actually use the axle twist to plant the wheels in the ground. The way i have it set up, it will not use much axle twist, there for making it (or the front leaf section) more of a arm instead of a leaf. In the beginning I was going to start with clamping the leafs in the front, but thought the traction bar would be more rigid. That’s not the same idea?
Thanks! I hope that don't happen. Those U-bolts are much larger than the ones that originally came with the traction bars, so hopefully they'll be good. This may lead to us making a plate that bolts to all 4 U-bolts and then goes up the front of the leaf.Awesome video! So cool that it actually works! My only worry is that will it be to much stress on the u bolts and potential shear them off?
Thats kinda what I was envisioning in my head a plate that goes around the hole bottom of the axle tube and is bolted on both endsThanks! I hope that don't happen. i can't with these, they won't fit.Are ya gonna try to run them like a regular traction bar??
I used to run MAS bars, same as you described. I loved them on my old Dart. I'm thinking I may build a set like that for this truckReminiscent of the old South Side Traction Bars. A bar that replaced the shock plate and clamped onto the front part of the spring. Right behind the spring eye. A very ridged setup with no "give" on the front part of the spring.
I wanna say I've seen one of those set ups, either for sale or in a build thread on here, not too long agoReminiscent of the old South Side Traction Bars.
