Hey guys, I'm slowly working my way around my '63 valiant and am tackling the major body damage. my trunk lid is the next target. By the attached images am I better off trying to locate a lid or is this an easy repair? I know i can sand out and rust prevention treat the bulk of the rust, but that hole is fairly large and in a bad location even before exploring the extent of the damage.

Myself,I would cut it out treat the rusted areas that are affected ,fabricate a patch panel and weld it back in.(Unless of course you can easily find another lid that is reasonable priced). That does not appear to be a bad repair.I am repairing one that needs a whole lot more work than yours.
Just my thoughts and Good Luck....

Well since I don't have the equipment to weld it myself, I guess I'll have to hunt around for both options, and see what turns out cheaper. Thanks for the advice, and I'll see what I can do.
