Trunk seal you don’t have to glue on?

Yes, I know the OEM style trunk seal glues/sticks on and is available, but I don’t want to do it that way. Has anyone tried using a seal bulb that presses over/clamps to the lip of the trunk opening? Anyone think this is a dumb idea? Car is a 1972 Duster for reference.
 
Give it a try and post your results. Doesn't look like it will break the bank. You'll either end up with a wet or dry trunk.

I did use something like that for a while on my Dart without issue. It was originally a door seal from another vehicle, don't recall the make or model but it was what I had on hand at the time, I eventually got and installed the correct one.
 
What's wrong with gluing it on? It's not like you're gonna be takin it off all the time.
