I have several early A cars I want to use the old trunnion shaft. 1 is froze solid. I've asked plenty of advise on how to free stuck engines. advise includes, coca cola, skunk pee ( its hard to get), etc. I was thinking of soaking in mixture of stf and acetone in a bucket?

also ac a rebuild kit be found that at least has the hard parts???? thanks

I haven't found anything. Just got a later transmission. I have the shaft out of my 64 barracuda that was in great condition, if you need the hard parts.

Submurge trunnion in K1 or #2 Diesel for a couple of days. If unsucessful, spray with PB Blaster, let it set for 1 hour, repeat, resubmurge in K1. Be patient and good luck

check out these guys. they have replacement for the B & T to a slide in the driveshaft. and use all U-joints. looks very good to me. http://www.driveshaftspecialist.com/Left-Column/Antique-Classics.html

I have several early A cars i'm trying to get on the road. probably will do that conversion on a 273 65 cuda . we have local shop that has made plenty of that conversion. around $300 or so with all new top name parts, but can't afford that on everything! a good trunion is plenty strong for my slants, since they worked great for the maw wedge!

poor people have poor ways!?? LOL
