Is this done by QuickTime? Can you please provide a picture? On the side of my bell has a U shape welded on it where ball stud bracket bolts to.
Mine is a 360 and manual trans with circa 1999 TTIs. I initially installed a Factory original gear-reduction starter. A year or two later, I had had enough of that trademark Mopar starter sound, and swapped in the mini..... click/ brooom/rumpidy rumpidy; gone is the Ruh ruh ruh ruh ruh ruh. So no, you don't NEED the mini, you can run the stocker if you have mind to. But IIRC it gets captured by the header, so if you need to take it off.... it's a PITA. The mini falls right off.Since this thread is already brought back does anyone know if you need a mini starter with a torqeflite 727? Do Dougs need a mini starter too?
Well, after a phone call and a couple emails, QuickTime (Holley) is supposedly sending me the updated version of the bell. I first have to send mine in, they sent me a UPS return label. Hopefully all goes well, and they are able to send me the new one. I'll keep ya posted. The new bracket looks to be stronger in the area where mine flexed (older bracket). I just looked at the Web site and they don't list the new bracket as a separate item for sale. Show them this thread, maybe you can shame them into sending you the new bracket for free.
How did it turn out?
