I have this cool old book titled "tuning for speed" by Phil Irving. I was looking on line to find a used copy to give to a buddy of mine who is way into old British bikes. Every used copy on Amazon was $499 or more! Described as the most desirable motorcycle tuning book in history. I bought my copy new about 14 years ago for maybe $40 Have to look up some values on more of my old books.

Wow, I just looked around also. I found them as high as 500 bucks.

On a side note I found this:

It looks to be an original copy (154 pages) scanned and is free for download. Maybe your buddy could just download it and save it to his computer. I just saved a copy to my external hard drive for future reference.

It is a really cool book with loads of information that can be used on any engine. I like having a copy but will suggest he downloads one.

All I can say is, OMG!
I have a copy in very good shape from the early 60's that my father bought new.

Man, that is cool. Your dad sounds like an interesting guy. Where did he work? My pop moved to delaware county from england in 1966 to work for boeng. He is an engineer and did autopilots on helicopters.
