Two wires running from back up light switch

There are two wires running from the plug on the back up light switch on the steering column (1966 Barracuda)

Wher do they go? One is hooked up, but the other one is not.

One goes to the lights at the back of the car and the other goes to the fuse block for power.

That makes sense..... "The dangling wire" appears to be long enough to reach exactly to the fuse box, but I guess I'd better make sure the other one isn't going there already......... (POSSIBLE SMOKE OUTSIDE OF THE WIRES?) O
