I have a 73 Duster 340 H code 727 8.25 3.21 that the I brought in to change out the ujoints. I provided Moog 246s (7260). This is a pic of the dimensions the shop sent me. Does anybody have an idea what’s going on here ? He says the ujoints on the car are smaller.
Thanks

Someone may have changed out the drive shaft, or maybe the pinion yoke. If you take the old joint to your local parts store they can fix you up.

That is a 7290 joint. Precision part number is 315 for the smaller 7260 yoke.

Thanks so much Roy. So that’s a 7290 ujoint ? Just so I’m clear since I’m a total novice is that 1.66 number measured incorrectly or from the wrong place. ?

I bought a Moog u-joint one time, because it was what the parts store had, the fit was super sloppy, went to the local driveshaft shop and picked up a spicer and it was nice and tight.

Make sure your Spicer is a USA made joint and not a foreign one with a sticker covering the ‘made in USA’.
