under hood brace Anyone fab a one piece unit?

Has anyone fabbed up a one piece under hood fender brace using the stock bolt holes?
I would like to have one instead of two rods. Similar to the Dodge Magnum or other current cars.
What material did you used, and material size.

I just built a set of fender to firewall braces out of 1/2" conduit just because .Don't know if it does anything, but my original plan was to wrap a longer bar above the engine and between the shock mounts. I have the pipe laying around, see how it goes...

Help me out....what is the purpose /function of the factory brace.

along with the 5mph (100 lb) bumpers, later with shock absorbers attached....was it to reduce crash damage ($$$) ? They only appeared in 73 and after, the same time the first 2-1/2 mph bumpers showed up.

Where they attach on the fender mount I do not see and other reason.....anyone?
