OK, I'm sure everyone heard about the two new small blocks comming out this year. My question is how much horsepower can a 68 Barracuda Formula S take before the unibody flexs? and does anyone know of a company that makes the kit to strenghten the body???

It's not a matter of how much HP but how long will it take with the HP you have and how hard you drive it, even with mildly modified engines. Eventually, problems like cracked paint on body seams, mis-aligned doors and alignment problems will surface if driven hard.

The first step is to install frame connectors. Welding to the floor in spots along the way or actually having them pass through the low portions of the floor and welding it all the way.

The next step would be a 6-point roll bar. Adding 2 more points, just behind the passenger and driver's seats from the side of the main hoop to the frame connector will help even more.

Yep Loco is right. We ran my sons Dart for years with a mild 383 running 12.40's and 12.30's and no frame connectors. It did start to show some paint cracking in the B-pillars so we welded some frame connectors in when we dropped the 400 in her. Now it is getting a 6 point rollbar as he plans to kep going faster then 11.50's. Ron

Thanks for the advice. I want to get my hands on that new 440 (340 Block) that was featured in Hot Rod Mag. But I still want to drive it on the street.
