I'm building a 69 barracuda. 6.4 hemi, TTI headers, RMS suspension, 275-35r 18 front tires, wheels will need to be custom have not ordered them yet.
Has anyone run USCT Inner fender braces with large front tires? I haven't installed mine yet. I'm concerned with interference. Thanks

The one I showed was just large diameter tires. Tires not that wide. The inner fender needed to be notched. It did have dropped spindles, but its all about the ride height between your tire and body. Dropped spindles are irrelevant to that relationship.

If the look doesn't bother you... how about a down bar tying the frame rail, upper coil over mount, and firewall would serve same purpose.

I have a set of the US Cartool inner fender braces on my '71 Dart, but I wasn't planning on putting 275's on that car and I haven't tried fitting them. Originally I didn't think those USCT fender braces would cause a clearance issue, they're in the corner and the tire is round and all. But those braces may in fact come out and down too far for a 275 on a lowered car. Like everything it would depend on a lot on ride height as well.

I know that on my Duster I've run out of height as far as clearance to the inner fender now, I have just the tiniest spot where you can see the undercoating is getting rubbed when the suspension is at full compression and on the lower bump stop. But that's with 275/35/18's and only about 24 7/8" from the ground to the fender lip in the middle of the wheel opening. I have "J" bars on the Duster in the engine compartment, tying the frame to the upper shock mount to the firewall.
 
You could buzz them in place with three or four tack welds and see. Just a thought. Keep in mind too that none of these cars is the same as they weren't assembled with the same tolerances, so what fits one may not fit another. So it might be something you simply have to mock up to find out on your particular car.
 
My plan was to do all of the metal work, installed the suspension, then measure for wheels. Thanks to you guys I'll modify this plan a bit. I'm not painting the car this time around. My dream is to do the power tour or similar events. this car has driver quality finish inside and out which is fine for what I want for now. It's is going to get driven not polished every day. If I burn the paint in my engine compartment Installing the braces I'll need to paint at least part if it now. Do any of you guys have Pics of your J bar installs I may want to do that instead. Thank You Big time guys for all the help.
