So I ordered a part from St Clair Shores, Michigan, on Monday. It's about 45 miles from me and right next to Detroit. Today is Thursday and the part is still not here so I thought I'd check on it.

Hmmm...Left St Clair Shores Monday and went to...PITTSBURG????? Only to return to Detroit? And now it's in Pontiac? So far, it's gone about 650 miles and still not here. At this rate, I might need an extended warranty on it due to the mileage it may have by the time, or IF, it makes it to me!! USPS people working hard - apparently too hard on the wrong things...

I have had that happen before. My issue was a wrong tracking number. Mine went from New York to Montana then just vanished!
 
Just logistics. Your package isn't the only one on the truck. UPS used to have everything sent to One sorting facility in Texas, no matter if you were shipping it 2 blocks away from you. Everything was sorted loaded and shipped from there to the local distribution centers. Just like zip codes. How many different addresses are in one zip code ?
 
Another reason why I don't buy online. There's no substitute for buying in person.
 
Had the same **** happen with them .
Cali to Tampa, On the truck for Delivery, got Sent Back to Cali. Duster Part ... lil box....man, I'm still pissed! Lol
 
Ups did 14 days on a pistol traveled the whole USA.

And you probably could have gotten them the same day from your local parts store.

I bought a Cheetah shifter from Scott (Pettybludart) just across the river a bit from us several years ago. Instead of coming across the bridge to Detroit and then to me, it went across Canada to Minnesota, Minnesota to Chicago, Ill., Chicago to Indianapolis IN, from there to Grand Rapids, from there it traveled right past my house on it's way to Detroit, then back over to the Lansing facility, lolol.

About 10 percent of the time, my incoming and outgoing packages get stuck in Jacksonville FL. I had one package that sat there for 10 days. Who ever runs that place should be fired. Last incoming package, left jacksonville to silver springs, then back to jacksonville, then to Gainesville, to silver springs, then out for delivery. An extra 3 days on a priority package.

Ordered some parts from Summit in Ga. Used to be if ordered early enough to actualy ship that day (say Monday) I would have the parts no later then Wed mid day. Last order took an extra day. UPS driver said that is now the "normal" . UPS Has added a day for deliveries. I used to get a/c parts from south Florida next day (not special shipping) by fedex. Now it is a minimum of 2 days sometimes 3 days. I will say that with Fedex now doing Sunday delivery, it sometimes helps.
 
Where abouts are you? I grew up in St Clair Shores, my parents are still there. I'm over in Romeo now.

Yeah, they can keep dreamin too. I buy very little from any of them. All they employ now are a bunch of morons. I can wait. lol
 
With how expensive USPS has become perhaps they are just making sure you get your monies worth?? I retired from that cesspool...damn near everything is read by an OCR. Often times, especially if the shipping label was hand written, the OCR simply can't "read" the address and just goes with what the address looks like to it. If the shipping label was not completely flat this can happen as well.
 
I got the part on Friday so at least I'm whole on it. It did not go on another lap anywhere so that is also good!! :thumbsup:

I figured as many members as we have on here, we must have dome USPS people. I'm sure we all have our horror stories of workplace silliness that drives us nuts.
 
i've had that happen several times lately packages criss crossing the country to get 50 miles down the road, can anyone understand how the us post office could be going broke. officials with million dollar salarys in the government are working on it
