At the very least, Tony speaks in tones like a normal guy.
That dork from the other channel changes his vocal inflection way too much.
At the time that I rebuilt the 340 I was short on cash so I went with off the shelf cast pistons that had a lower compression ratio than I really wanted.

Listen to his videos where he speaks, not where he talks with another person. His vocal tone is really annoying.

I have a hard time listening to DDG. I commented to him on Ytube that he sounds just like Doctor Dimento. He agreed with me..................

The guy may be a decent person but the way that he talks is really annoying.

What ever happened to @Princess Valiant 's stab at you tube stardom. I thought she did a great job and knew more stuff than i did.

I imagine it does take quite a bit of time and consistency to put out good content. I have no idea.

Let's see @318willrun 's van and princess valiant do an autocross. Slant vs 318 with weight!

Some people have stage presence and some do not.
This is not to insult anyone. Please don’t take it as such.
Tony has it. Even though I don’t agree with everything he says or does, he presents well on camera.
Many don’t but we like them anyway.
Look at Steve Dulcich. Nice guy, super smart but he does come across as awkward onscreen. I’d rather hang out with Steve than Tony though.
Some people are drawn to watch those with a more polished persona.
Junkerup/Chris Birdsong is one that looks comfortable on camera.

It's amusing reading the Abbot and Costello type comments. "I hate this bs!! Why do you hate it, it's about racing? "Well I don't really hate it" But you said you weren't interested. "Yeah but that was before some others (whom I like) made supporting comments and some sense about it" Ok so you like it? "No not really".

I met Tony years ago. Bought parts from him, and sold parts to him FTF. He's a weird bird. Lot's of people hate the NY accent. He's a rarity around here. Not like when I lived in SWFL. He' like a kid when he comes up with theories on building cars. He does introduce younger guys into the old school stuff.

He's a one off Mopar nut.

Ha! I turned it off at what 20 seconds! What did I miss!!???? Please tell me! :BangHead: :BangHead:
It was probably what I came to except, slow junk vs broken junk. I am not watching another from either of them. Id honestly be ashamed to take the time and have those results.... especially making a gasser style car and be that slow.
My nearly stock Dakota r/t would put slag hammer on the trailer.

Slaghammer - girggled for about 200 ft and ran a 8.60 in the race.
DDG - Ran a best of 9.04 during his 2 trial passes before breaking on the official race run
See, that's embarrassing if you ask me big block a-body, race car appearing vs that fairly stock demon small block. Someone tell Uncle Tony he ought to be ashamed of himself.

it was good enough to win the race/challenge. Don't just pick on Tony.... a hopped up 360 like that in a A-body running 9's isn't so story telling would ya say ?? Neither car overachieved but the fun was in the race (or supposed to be), not the times they turned.

Don't pick on tony? seriously? come on man..... .007 bearing clearance is enough of a reason to pick on him forever.... Let along drag racing with bad LCA pivot bushings.....

Moparmega said the UTG car was slow. I said both cars underachieved ET wise

Naw.. i usually am pretty good.. just a bad morning is all :)

If it's a 9 second 1/8 mile car so be it, but be it a consistent 9 second 1/8 mile car, so it goes rounds atleast.
That's the part I don't get, guys who build cars, the cars are slow and can't run the same number or break all the time. Breaking isn't any fun but I'll give them that they're racing and doing stuff probably making money off of YouTube doing it too

well, I seriously doubt either of the two are interested in "going rounds" bracket racing. I think DDG was on a "tour" and heading to a mopar show anyways if I understand correctly. Stopping by to race UTG was just for grins and giggles. I doubt there was pride or money on the line.. maybe a melted ice cream cake for laughs :D I call it getting back to basics of enjoying the hobby.

I agree

I don't get the hate, don't like him then don't watch him, I'm not a fan of his, have watch the odd thing but I know more and kept up to date mainly by his haters.

It's probably pretty hard to do a show on a shoe string budget and come up with ideas to post several times a week for years, I don't know what you expect from the crap he throws together with parts he has lying around. He's squeaking out a living good for him, magazines went to **** and he tried his hand with the new media and is getting by it seems. To me I don't see Tony any different the majority of the car guy's I ever seen. He just a Mopar dude on the internet trying get by, I imagine if most of us posted every theory we had about cars we each would have a little hate group, I have one just from posting on here far as I know it's got 2 members :)

I don't hate him, I just think he could represent better. Hell, I have less of a budget than most people including uncle Tony and am still building a badass car that will run in the 9s (1/4 mile).
I suppose it's just a different mindset from throwing **** together vs building a car that can last and go fast.
Although the car will have to do 1/8 since the track officials want it that way over a certain temperature

Ya but that's your car for you, not something you got to throw money into for a show that's making hundreds of dollars an episode. His personal fleet of cars he seems to put a little more effort into, the car he's dragging here was supposed to be some kind of off road buggy for some kind of race, built with a truck frame and a plate floor and half way switched to a drag car with parts he had laying around, it is what it is, was a 4 door car on it way to be junked now it something, what that something is IDK :)

The projects and the concept behind the project he's picks for his show, definitely ain't doing him any favors, he should of stuck with just bottle rocket, but started off 100% stock and slowly modded it to like a 10's car over the years instead of investing in the horrible projects he has picked for his show.

That what I like about what 318willrun does picks goals that aren't elaborate but possibly attainable within the restrictions he gives himself and not gonna take years to accomplish and it stuff the average new/old could possibly copy. And it's the journey, see so many on here buy their first project and want to jump into 9's-10's right away, instead of how about start with 14's and work your way up.

This is aside from the race, but UTG has said more than once it's a business and his lively hood. He cannot put 25k into a channel car or he'd go upside down. He has to do things cost effective, meaning the videos pay more than he is putting into the projects, plus pay rent for the shop. Agree or disagree with his methods, ok. But in the end, it's a business. He takes nothing from nobody because it's free to watch.
